Beautiful textured wool rug, hand-loomed in Toluca, Estado de Mexico; by a family that has been crafting rugs for years. Juan and his sons are involved in the entire process from growing the sheep and then shearing them, which is the process where they cut the woolen fleece off them, without harming the animal. And from there, they wash the sheep’s wool and start taking the threads out of it, which is later placed on a loom where they start weaving the entire piece in their tiny workshop. It takes a lot of time and dedication to put these pieces together, and the result is beautiful.
This rugs measures approximately 59” x 41.5”
They can be dry cleaned, hand washed in cold water, dipped inside the tube or a big container. It is also possible to wash them in the washing machine as long as it is on a very delicate cycle, in cold water and choosing wool as the type if material (if the machine has that option).
