Chandra चन्द्रयान in Sanskrit stands for “moon”. This piece was inspired by my love of Vedic astrology. In Vedic astrology the moon is considered to be the most important planet in the birth chart. Symbolically, circles are a universal symbol representing the sun, the soul, cycles of time, the infinite, the self, god, and can be found all throughout nature.
As the sun, it is masculine power; as the soul and as encircling waters, it is the feminine maternal principle. It implies an idea of movement, and symbolizes the cycle of time, the perpetual motion of everything that moves, the planets journey around the sun (the circle of the zodiac), the great rhythm of the universe.
A Le Harvest exclusive in collaboration with Henri co. Made on cold press watercolor paper and inspired by the lunar principles. Frame not included. Please note that each piece is one of a kind and will vary slightly from the piece pictured.
